The Empire State Buiding has QUITE the scam going.

So I'm typing this from a Starbucks down the street from the Empire State Building. And let me tell you this...what a freaking racket those guys have going. I could have guessed that there would be a line to get to the top, but I never would have guessed that it would have taken us almost an hour from the time we walked in to the time we go to the top.

Their scam works like this...you pay them $14 per person and in turn you get to wait in a line for almost an hour with no places to sit down just to get into an elevator to go the 80th floor. Then you have to wait in ANOTHER line to get to the top!! The view WAS worth it (pictures to follow), but all in all it's something I wouldn't care to do again.

The rest of our trip so far has been great. We bought some snacks from an all night grocery last night, watched some TV, then went to bed and didn't wake up until 9:30...what it IS our anniversary after all! We're going to SOHO and Chinatown today, then hitting the Staten Island Ferry for some close up shots of Lady Liberty.

More later on!

We're getting ready to head to New York!

It's the day before our big trip and we're both really excited. Jaime's still not feeling all that great because of the pregnancy but I'm hoping that once we get out and start moving around, the excitement will help pick her up and move her along.

Just keep us in your thoughts and make sure to check this site every day for photos and thoughts of what we did earlier. Thank goodness for wireless internet!
