Merry Christmas! Among many other wonderful blessings given to us by our parents and family, we got to bring home our daughter today. She is sleeping peacefully in her daddy's arms right now after being a champion feeder. She is in perfect health and seems to be adjusting well to life on Hackberry Lane. Of course, we haven't experienced the "first night at home" yet, so ask me again tomorrow. Tonight there won't be any nurses to take her to the nursery while I get some sleep.

We can't wait for each of you to meet our daughter and be a part of her life. We are just glad for her to be a part of ours!

Andy Matthews here...letting you know that the newest addition to the Matthews family arrived today, Friday December 23, at 5:34 PM. Noelle Jordan Matthews weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. She's a beautiful pink color (quite fitting wouldn't you say?) and is in perfect health.

Jaime was absolutely amazing during the whole ordeal which started at 8:15am this morning when her contractions started,. Mother, father and child are at Vanderbilt hospital in room 4117 (under Matthews, Jaime if they move us). Please feel free to stop by and visit on Saturday, but we'll likely be going home on Sunday for Christmas.

Yes... I am almost a father and I am impatient to get started. Our official due date is just over a week away (december 29th if you'll recall) and Jaime and I have both been losing sleep already. "Both of us" you say? Well okay, mostly Jaime but I still get some of that due to her waking up and surfing the internet at 3am. Anyway, our time is almost here, the event that will forever change our lives...both our parents are coming into town for Christmas. That's right...we will soon have 4 very anxious, grandparents-in-waiting watching our every move, waiting with baited breath, hoping and praying that Jaime will go into labor while they're here. Jaime and I of course hope that we defeat their expectations and have the baby early. It will certainly make Christmas more fun and pleasant for everyone if we had the baby BEFORE they got here. That way everyone can enjoy the newest member of the family together. Anyway...keep checking this site because the next time you read it, you might see a picture of our new baby.
