Christmas in...er....December!
File under: General, Andy, Family
We're traveling down to Tampa for Christmas this year. It's going to be great having all that time with my parents. Plus Noelle is changing and growing at an almost daily pace now. I can't wait for my mom and dad to see her and talk to her.

The good thing is that we'll get to spend almost a week with my parents in Brandon. The drawback? Not getting to see Jaime's family on one of the more special days of the year.

So, rather than not get to see us on the 25th, Dean and Diane are driving to Nashville to see us THIS weekend! They're already on the road, and should be arriving sometime this evening. It'll be nice because with this being Noelle's first Christmas (that she'll actually "get"), they'd miss a lot otherwise.

So bring it on! We can't want to see them and spend time with them.

How great can that be. Dean & Diana, I'm glad that you will have the fortune to be with them. I can not tell you how much it meant to us to be able to be with you all and I'm sorry it didn't work out that we could all be together again this year. I wish you all a very Mery Christmas and son, looking forward to see your family here with us this year.

There are weeks
File under: Noelle Jordan, Jaime
I've been feeling kind of off this week, not sure why. I feel like spending time alone, and am really interested in cleaning which is something I tend to do a lot of when I'm stressed or feel out of control. Yesterday if I wasn't so busy during the time Noelle was at school, I may have tried pulling down the Christmas decorations from the attic and putting them up by myself. That's just the kind of stuff I feel like doing. And a small part of me would have wanted Andy to feel bad that I did it alone, even though I didn't ask him to help and he couldn't have had any idea that I was doing it. So that's ridiculous. Again, good thing I was too busy for all that.

This morning Noelle was singing Jesus Loves Me, and she sang "There are weeks, but He is strong." I told her that what she sang was probably a better version for me right now than the original. We all have weeks like this, and there won't be an end to them until we get to Heaven. So when we do go through these weeks, we need to hold onto the truth that God is strong, and in control, and He cares about my week.

I did get some "good" news today. I suspected my progesterone levels might be low, too low in fact to support us in getting pregnant, so I went in on Monday for a test. I came in at the low end of "normal" which means that they are going to put me on progesterone for a few months to see if that corrects the issues I've been having. My midwife seems pretty confident that this should do the trick. I sure hope it does.

So glad there is something they can do for you! We'll be praying that the progesterone works!!!

"I dropped my poop"
File under: Noelle Jordan
I hate to totally give away the punchline of this post, but it was too good to pass up using as a title.

Noelle was really tough to put to down for a nap today. She wouldn't stop talking, Jaime had to go in there several times, and finally we thought she was down. But, after about 20 minutes, she started talking again. Every few minutes, she'd talk for a little bit, then quiet down. Finally, Jaime just decided to get her up and we'd just put her to bed early.

As soon as Jaime walked into Noelle's room, I hear her say "Andy, can I get your help in here?" So I walked in to see Noelle standing up in her crib, totally naked. That was bad enough, but she was poopy (even though Jaime had changed her poopy diaper just a half hour earlier). She was standing in it, she had it on the crib rails, and on her hands and fingers. We couldn't help but laugh.

The best part though was when she looked over the rail to the floor and said "I dropped my poop". Jaime and I both looked on the floor and sure enough, there was a big old clump of poop on the floor. We both lost it...laughing and howling, and Noelle just standing there looking proud as pie, and laughing along with us.

What fun kids are eh?

You guys have got to do something with that kid of yours and her poop :)

Sounds like potty training time! Or sew her into her pjs!

Mom B - December 02, 2007 04:25 pm

@Heather...no kidding. You can't help but laugh, but it's also really irritating. We'll figure out something quickly (hopefully).

@Nana...Ali suggested getting a pair of footed pajamas, cutting the feet off, then putting them on Noelle backwards. That way she can't get to the zipper.

@Andy...but that wouldn't take care of her doing it at naptime!

Do I need to "poop proof" the guest room before you all come down at Christmas??n Something that can be hosed down maybe?? What a comic relief children are! I'm glad you saw the humor in it.
